Expertise: Ability to conduct and manage research and analysis of factors relating to climate change as well as advice on the socio-economic impacts of various regulations aimed at protecting the environment. It is expected that the incumbent would be capable of integrating environmental economics into mainstream economic analysis.
Key activities and deliverables: Plan, coordinate and supervise work of specified directorates in economic policy. Conduct analyses on relevant areas of microeconomics and environmental economics. Draft and manage inputs into the Annual Budget Review and Medium Term Budget Policy Statement in respect of economic policy. Monitor sector performance and conduct sectoral forecasts. Brief stakeholders on economic developments. Develop and maintain a suite of databases on key microeconomic indicators and contribute to enhanced understanding of economic linkages in general.
To be considered, you must have:
• A post graduate degree in Economics/ Econometrics or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant management and/or relevant economic policy analysis
• Must have sound understanding of applied microeconomics / environmental economics.
• Must have superior research, analysis and report writing skills, with the ability to interpret economic policy outcomes and ability to situate these in the broader economic environment.
• Must have experience with performance and/or project management.
